WHO WE ARE: Zibi Tappert was on a carefree motorcycle tour through Indonesia in 2021 when he stopped to visit an orphanage on the island of Kei Kecil. Seeing children sleeping on the floor reminded him of growing up in Soviet-occupied Poland and his own sister not having a bed. “No child should be sleeping on the floor.” He called a few friends and raised  donations to buy beds for the kids. Later, he bought shoes. Back in Bali, he met Bert Crews, and the two of them returned on what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. Over lunch one day, they met Max Janjaan who taught at the local college. He took them to a neighbor island, Kei Besar where they met orphan kids whose basic nutritional needs were failing. They set up payment plans with the local grocer. The orphanage could order necessities and Zibi & Bert would make payments on-line. But before they could leave the island, Max introduced 4 families in desperate situations. Single grandparents raising teenage children whose parents died in work related accidents. Zibi & Bert once again tapped friends and family to help. Since then, they have expanded “saving one child at a time,” helping kids with mobility problems. Small donors support these efforts with minimal overhead. OURDREAM is completely transparent. All donations go for goods and services. No funds are sent to individuals directly.
